    Hey Mike,

What are your thoughts on possibly designing websites or apps for the new iwatch?

Ha!…I’ll wait til its released and see how people are using it before I design anything for it. Also, the process for designing any device, you must be able to hold it in your hand so that you can test your designs by viewing your designs on the screen, checking text sizes, dimensions, etc. It will most likely six months to a year before I do anything on the new Apple watch. We have to know how it works first. ;)

Outstanding video as always! Read the book years ago and have been using many of the principles outlined in it every since. My own perspective in life is to always connect-the-dots, and you have done that with this video. What I mean is that you connected the dots of WHY we are doing the work as web designers: (1) get the job/contract to pay the bills, (2) build a home-based business (hustle) on the side for the extra money that is for investing, and (3) buy assets not a bunch of toys. Those who are entrepreneurial or thinking forward financially get it.

Another set of dots you connected is Desire–Income–Lifestyle. What I mean is that many people come to your site because they have a desire/passion/liking for web-design (like me). Then you show them a systematic way to make steady money to pay the bills (i.e. develop skills and a portfolio to land a solid paying job). Last, you talk about going to the next level, personal development. Get good enough to do some work on the side and make extra money (invest) to have a better lifestyle.

Appreciate what you do, you’re a great promoter of web-design (particularly as a profession and occupation). Love the messages, love that you include personal development, keep them coming.

Read that book years ago. Invaluable. For younger kids it’s great points are to watch your income and outgoing finances and my favorite, watch the boses. Watch both their pros and cons. Great book a must read for anyone really even if your flipping burgers.

@Juan – Thanks man, glad we share the same thoughts. Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like we have a lot in common based on your comment. Being realistic is something that I try to preach. Not often do you see people who are pushing an entrepreneurial agenda tell people to get a job. But for me, I try to be realistic. We need jobs even if its not the endgame. The job is a way to gain experience while also maintaining a family, paying bills on time, etc. But with that job, we should all be striving for more than the 9-to-5 and working towards leaving the 9-to-5 (check to check) rat race. Thanks for the feedback and for watching/supporting my videos. ;)

@Kris – Exactly, great message to teach kids. I have a 5 and 8 year old and we were just talking to them about what they want to be in life. Although they have no clue at that age, we did talk about the difference between being an employee vs. being an owner of a company or business. Telling them the difference of who makes more was cool on how they reacted and started to see that the owner of a company makes more. They were both saying how they wanted to be an owner of a video game store or barbie store. It was funny, but you could see the seeds being planted. I know you have two little ones as well. ;)

Thanks Michael, your videos are always inspiring and the most important thing you make it simple and valuable for ordinary people, keep the good work. Rich Dad, Poor Dad is a powerful piece of kit indeed and looking at it in wider context like you said in your videos is the best advice you can give to young people. Thump Up!
    cheers

“The most inconvenient fact is that there is now no realistic chance of averting dangerous global warming.”Right. Just tell that to anyone in Europe right now who is not cashing in on the scam, and see what response you get.

Jo – I hope so.Gillian – The Telegraph 'apology' broke last night after I'd written this and I didn't have time to revise the post. Thanks for naming Mr Ellory!Liz – yes, v grateful it's not in our manor…Ruth – might join you under there :)Penny – especially after the apology was issued last night. The negative reviews and sniping about other writers is the worst part. And it wasn't an isolated thing but repeated over a period of time so drink and late nights can't take all the blame.
