Mike, you have no idea how helpful this video was to me. I’ve been struggling with understanding if there was a difference between a UX Researcher and a UI Designer. This video was what I needed. Thanks for explaining the difference between the two. Keep up the great work!

Here in the UK most companies expect the UI/UX designer to also do the UX research. As a designer I appreciate that I need to be ‘user centric’ but I don’t care too much for conducting user interviews etc.
I also find UX research techniques such as personas over rated. Maybe useful for an agency who have diverse work but for in house teams most of our projects have the same audience. And how does knowing that personal x has two kids and likes walking her dog usefully influence my design?
Lastly, wireframes can be very restrictive to a designer. As a designer I don’t want my work to be reduced to colouring in.
