This describes me to the letter! This will be my lightbulb moment. I have had several ideas that have not been accomplished and years have passed. Hopefully, I can use this to go back to my original goal that I truly want to accomplish first and work from there. As always, thanks for sharing!

    Hey Rockstar,

This is really true. My idea for a business venture last year was hampered by my co-founder who was a procrastinator and always deviated from any stable idea. Thank you so much for this video!

    As always, you rock!

    Cheers!

I have that book on my wish list along with accidental creative. This year i have worked really hard on both procrastination and perfectionism. Pretty much what you have said has been me in the past.

I have never stuck to one hobby and have always quit to take up a new idea. At the moment writing about this on my blog too.

This year I have stuck to my projects. It’s been tough at times. But the moment you create a piece of work you are proud of, it makes it all worth while.

I love the web. I love design. This in it’s self does not make you a good web designer. Without really knowing i was doing it i often procrastinated. Because I struggle to close the gap between where I am and where I want to be. Beating myself up.

The difference this year is sticking with one project and finishing it. And once you have the taste of success, you want more. So i procrastinate less and less.

I’m excited to build websites. And am now getting to a stage where my design are good. But am still in the period of where there is a gap. And the vision i have of my designs is not always matched by my skill level.

No one tells Beginners that this stage can last for years. So for me this is sound advice. Sometimes you got to fight your way thought it till the end.

Thanks Mike for other great video post.

    Kevin,

Thanks for the in depth perspective on what you’re going through which I feel speaks for a large percentage of folks (me included). Yes, just being aware of it is the huge first step. Then taking action. One thing that helped me focus more on my websites and blog posts (video blogs) is that I had to give up Facebook. Think of one thing that distracts you the most and give that up. It might be Facebook, Twitter, playing poker with friends, playing video games, watching too much TV, etc. Think of that one thing, give it up and it will help you focus and get serious. Mine was facebook, it would distract me so much that I decided to quit about a year ago, no facebook, just twitter and my blog. Then I was able to focus because each time I wanted to join facebook again, it reminded me that I needed to focus on my projects. :)
