Mike, Outstanding, as usual. And thank you for the layout; seeing this example hits home. We hear you all the time say that a portfolio is the MOST essential tool for any designer. This advice is also essential for ANYONE nowadays looking for a job, trying to change careers, or just getting started. Your advice to showcase your work (no matter what industry) is simply good wisdom. Thank you.
@Juan – Thanks bud, glad you enjoyed this one. Always appreciate the feedback.

Hi Mike, Its simply superb and awesome. Can i have the code for that portfolio ?? If possible share it here or otherwise please mail to me. Please do the needful. Thank you.
Mike, Thanks for this tutorial as always great job, great information! Would it be possible maybe in the future for you to do another tut based off this portfolio design were you go through the coding process and implementing a CMS ( probably WordPress) into it for members of your online training course? I know you already have went over this process with the RAM Truck project…just thought I would ask…Once again thanks for the great information!!!!!
@Vamci – Thanks, I didn’t actually code the portfolio. I only made the mockup for this tutorial. But using basic HTML/CSS, the layout I presented should be easy to create. Should take it on as a nice beginner project. ;)
@Zach – Thanks Zach, yes, I’ll probably demonstrate the coding side in a bonus video in my members section. I’ll work on putting that together.
@Andrew – Yes, you should always link to a larger version as most of the time they’ll want to see the level of detail in your visual design. From a small thumbnail, that’s not possible. So by linking to a full size, they can see the level of spacing, layout, dimensions and the pixel perfect detail they want to see in a project.

Hi Mike,
I was wondering what your thoughts are on the top level domain to use for your portfolio. Obviously things like .org or .mil are out, but do you think .com is the best option? I’d like to use my first and last name, but the .com version is taken (although not used). I was thinking .net or .me, but was curious to know what you thought. Or maybe not even use my name (like you have done) and go with something different entirely. Thanks for reading.
Hello Mike,
I have enjoyed several of your video tutorials. I am in the process of doing a website of my work as an architect. I have purchased a month of Portfoliobox to start. Any recommendations regarding format? I have watched your videos on what a basic website should cover and not to over the formatting, concentrate on the work/content.
Thanks,

Thanks Mike.
This is so true. Many people really overdo it with their sites when really the only thing that is important is the actual work.
Sometimes the most obvious things are the hardest to understand.
Thanks Mike for the tut.
Quick question: Is there ever a reason to include a link to the full web design, as opposed to only showing screen shots?
@Leon – Thanks man, glad you agree.
