ML Podcast 001: My Story: How I Got Started In Web Design

In this first episode of my “new” Web Design Podcast, I share my story of how I got started in Web Design. I believe story telling is important for building relationships with your audience and I feel its important for me to formally explain how I got started.

My hope with this episode is to become a bit more transparent, build a stronger connection with you and give you a glimpse into my history and growth through my career.

Lastly, the goal of this episode is for you to get inspired. Understand that I’m no different than anyone else. My skills surely didn’t come over night. I started from the bottom just like everyone else and worked my way up slowly. I try new things like posting videos to Youtube, Blogging and now Podcasting (all of which separates me a bit from other Web Designers). Take action, work hard and go after what you want. I can do it, so can you.

Show Notes

– My first dream was to be a baseball player
– I first started designing websites with Netscape Composer
Gary Vaynerchuk inspired me to start blogging
– Youtube changed my life (I’ll explain in next podcast episode)

Nice job Michael! I think the podcast is a great idea because it gives more of the business side how you got started and what it took for you to get where you are today. The key I gathered is to follow what you are good at. By the way, I do remember Netscape! Finally, keep the podcasts coming. I see it as another means to learn from you.

@s3r10s1n @Rob – Thanks for feedback. Glad you appreciate the new podcast.

@Tom – Thanks Tom for the nice testimonial. Glad you enjoy the course. Being a member or my training course you get the best of both world… i.e. My blogs which are more on the business and knowledge sharing side and my web design training course which is more hands-on tutorial base training. Both are very important.
