Limit drop shadows, use subtle gradients, consistent spacing and typography, whitespace… I consider this all very valuable advice. Thanks Mike!

I want to publicly thank you for looking over my site. I should have watched this video before contacting you. You pretty much reiterated everything here. lol.

I’ve implemented most of what we covered. I have a little bit more to fix.

I need to catch up on these videos. They’re huge and super helpful.

    Thank you!

@Damion – Anytime, thanks for the kind words. Actually, the things I mentioned to you comes up all the time. Every business/website owner face these issues…how to effectively draw users in, how to effectively establish enough content on the site that engages users and get them to take action (i.e. buy from you). It’s a constant challenge for all website owners. The things I went over with you in my email will actually be the topic of my next video. I thought it would be helpful to reiterate on the issue of improving conversions. ;)

    Hi Mike,
I know this is not really related to this particular video, but I just wanted to ask where you get the photos you use in your web designs from?

I know some of them were your own personal photos, and that others that you were using just for mock-ups were just pulled from the web.. But what about when you actually need a photograph for real web sites for clients?

Thanks for your inspiring and educational videos! I will use Fireworks so much more now after picking up a few great techniques!

Do you have any tips for best practices as to how to get hold of photographs that you can legally use?
